Kinetic Molecular Theory
  • Basic assumptions:
  • Made of tiny, individual particles.
  • Move rapidly and randomly in straight-line motion.
  • Far apart and have very little attraction for each other.
  • Average kinetic energies are equal at given temperature.
  • Average kinetic energies increase at the temperature.

Gas Pressure
  •   The force per unit area exerted by the gas pressure as they collide with the walls of their container.
